If you have a gear vr, then you need to have Cardboard Enabler App to bypass the Oculus boot. Here is a good step by step to get it to work if you prefer in detail. Re the head tracking - I should probably revert to my EDTracker - that works really well and I imagine using that would eliminate the drifting issue - that might make it a bit more usable.

Has anyone plugged in a cable to that port and have it do anything? I think Trinus VR connecting to the PC over Wi-Fi is bad. With the Samsung Gear it cannot connect via USB - I have tried plugging in cables to the microUSB socket on the Gear but it doesn't seem to do anything. The Galaxy S4 with Trinus VR was better (faster FPS) - because it was connected via USB. The head tracking would go off-centre after not long. I managed to get the head tracking working in Trinus VR - essentially moving the mouse around and setting the mouse headlook on in ED. Then I could start Trinus VR on the S7 and insert it into the Gear without it starting Oculus Home. I downloaded a package disabler on the S7 and disabled the Oculus System Activities package. OK - so I finally got a few spare moments to try this out. Has anyone actually got an S7 and Gear VR working with ED? Anyway, when I plug in the S7 into the Gear when it is running Trinus VR it stops that and starts the Oculus app - basically cutting off the streaming session with Trinus on the PC. Just having an nVidia 970 is supposed to be enough to 'gameStream' to the S7/Gear VR.Īlternately I have tried Trinus VR again but the S7 plugs into the Gear and then can't be plugged in via USB to the PC (I've tried connecting the USB to the connector on the Gear but it doesn't seem to ever do anything.

If I start it on the phone then it seems to launch ED but nothing comes up on the phone screen and then I just get it normally on the PC screen. But I can't work out the sequence of events that needs to be followed to start ED and the streaming. I managed to get the Sideload VR, and the Stream Cinema app with my phone sig all OK. I need some help! I have tried the instructions here: With the Galaxy S7 and the Gear VR I was hoping that it would be even better - so far I have not been successful in any attempts to get any view of ED.

Basically you started the app on the phone and the PC and linked them, set ED to side-by-side mode and away you go. With the Galaxy S4 I used and app called Trinus VR which worked quite well - a little laggy but I could fly around OK with it connected via USB cable. Previously I had an S4 and was playing around with a 3D printed set of goggles ( here). I got a Galaxy S7 and the free Gear VR with it a couple of weeks ago.
